As we see it, our greatest strength is the people
and partners within the JES family of companies.
Jeffrey E. Smith, President and Chief Executive Officer
Professionally, I have learned the importance of humility and community service. Through our partnership with the United Way, my eyes have been opened to the importance of giving back. The phrase Big Them, Little Us has changed me and taught me how to put others first.
JES and AEP have made a huge impact in my career. I acquired tax credit knowledge by attending IPED conferences and learning from upper management and my peers. I have also attended internal leadership seminars that helped me grow as a person, employee, manager and coworker.
Being a part of the JES/AEP family has greatly impacted my career development by expanding my knowledge of the real estate industry and how tax credits benefit corporate investors and affordable housing facilities.
JES has been extremely instrumental in my personal growth. Management has always held a strong emphasis on continuing education and providing the tools to make it happen. Education is not limited to seminars and a classroom setting. There is a lot of combined experience amongst the workforce. I personally have benefited from the mentoring offered by the executive team, which has allowed me to cross-train in several areas. I have been able to broaden my background from the health care side to include the affordable housing side as well.
